Back when I was in uni — a decade ago (urgh!) — I created my own usable font using Illustrator and font creation software. It was tops. Not that I can compete with the masters, of course, those absolute legends that designed the timeless fonts that are so common today.
I feel the urge to do it all over again. I'd like to toy with handwritten fonts with a quirky feel — both block letters and script. The above is just something I've been playing with in Illustrator, it's not a font yet… Hmmm, I think I may set myself the task of trawling the big www for inspirational type design… I also own a book of awesomeness called 'New Vintage Type' — which, coincidentally, features some music posters for The Decemberists, whom I saw in January when they toured the land of Oz. Easily one of the most memorable gigs I’ve been to, their performance was so high-energy and entertaining — we definitely got our pennies worth.

Like your style... I would like to see if you would be interested in creating a logo design for me... |

Hi Terry,
Thanks for getting in contact, I am truly flattered you like my blog. Unfortunately, my logo design talents leave much to be desired — definitely not my strong suit! I can, however, recommend a great design studio here in Melbourne: Jalapeno Creative. Check out their website at http://www.jalapenocreative.com.au/.
Kindest regards,
Lauren. |
