‘Window Seat’, from Erykah Badu’s latest album — “New Amerykah, Pt. 2 – Return of the Ankh”

I officially started my four-day week this week. Work has been busy and stressful of late, so on Friday I resolved to treat myself. It was such a beautiful day, clear blue skies and bright sunshine, though incredibly cold. Thus, I decided to drive to the Yarra Valley — to soak in some rays, treasure hunt in an antique store and pick up some provisions for the weekend.

Erykah Badu’s latest album was pumping through the stereo as I wound my way through the lush green fields. I felt more and more rejuvenated at every turn. Marinated persian fetta, spiced quinces in syrup, parmesan crispbreads and honey and walnut ice-cream from Yarra Valley Dairy, and my journey was complete. I love my home. Thanks for being so awesome.

Don’t you just hate it when you whip out your swish SLR camera to take a photo of a breathtaking scene, only to find you’ve no power in your battery? Luckily, I keep my little happy-snapper in my bag 24/7. A panorama of the Yarra Valley — where the thick white mist settles and punctuates the rolling hills.
