I stumbled across a new magazine in Mag Nation this week. It’s a lovely little publication produced in Canada, called Uppercase, about all things creative and curious. There were a number of articles that got me a-thinkin’, possibly too many for the one blog entry. Hence this entry is called ‘uppercase #1‘ — I anticipate a few more to come… Not only were the articles inspiring, but I really love the cover and internal design, too — so beautifully simple and vibrant. I am definitely starting a new love affair with colour!

I was chuffed to read home-grown Melbourne gals from Ink & Spindle featured (especially being a Canadian mag) — they do beautiful large format silkscreen printing, and have been an inspiration to me for some time. How I would love to have my own little printing studio! Beware, Ink & Spindle, I may be a competitor one day!

The article also featured the likes of Denyse Schmidt of Denyse Schmidt Quilts, and Michelle Engel Bencsko of Cloud9 Fabrics. Such beautiful fabrics! *Sigh*… Denyse has a jaw-dropping collection of fabrics and quilt patterns, and has been featured in just about every crafty magazine in America. I encourage you to visit her site (link above), there is even some free patterns — including a very cute tote bag!

Cloud9 also have a lovely range of fabrics, a couple pics below… I can imagine making some very sweet kiddy quilts with these!

Well now, if that doesn’t inspire you, I don’t know what will!! Oh and in unrelated news, I found that ball of deep yellow wool I was missing — and it wasn’t spread throughout the garden courtesy of Darcy, as I was expecting. It seems, in an attempt to keep it safe from the black wool assassin (the assassin is black, not the wool), I had put it away in a drawer. Ahem (*sheepish*). xo
