Last Sunday my gorgeous mum and sister hosted a beautiful baby shower for George and I, surrounded by all the lovely ladies in my life (with a few notable exceptions). There were delicious finger sandwiches, sausage rolls, mini quiches and sweet treats as far as the eye could see. I put in my two bob and made the Lamington Cupcakes I told you about in the ‘baby shower invitation’ post, (image below) and a mini’s version of the trifle recipe I told you about in the ‘more than a mere trifle’ post. In case you were wondering, that big ol’ trifle recipe makes about 20 mini’s. This time however, mum and I made the sponge jam roll from my Country Women’s Association Cookbook — those Country ladies know how to cook! Not sure we did as good a job as Nan, though it was pretty tasty.

I also put together ‘party favour’ packs — an adult version of the lolly bag — which contained a Madame Flavour tea (the rep at Madame Flavour is an absolute delight), gingerbread cutter (boy or girl, depending on your gender guess!), gingerbread recipe and ground ginger.
